We'll Always Have Argo

Posted on 05:57 by omprakash

I have not written on this blog because -- too overworked, not inspired enough. And yet, there are plenty of things to be inspired by, right? Did somebody work out the Illuminati symbolism at the Oscars yet? Anyone?

I don't know about all that stuff, but it seems weird to me that the wife of the President would come out during the Academy Awards to announce that a movie about America's past troubles in Iran has won Best Picture. I mean, what sort of weird confluence of politics and entertainment is that? Was that necessary at all?

I was just discussing with my husband the U.S.'s present and continuing economic crisis, and I told him I thought the only way possible to get out of it -- or, at least provide the illusion that we were getting out of it -- was to have another war, preferably with an opponent we can "properly demonize." And it really seems that with Iraq out of the way, the next stop on our Grand Tour is Iran.

I mean, all the signs are there. Certainly, we can go the North Korea route, but I think we're too in bed with the entire Eastern region to start a mess there. We seem to be on a Middle Eastern Grand Tour, and next stop: Iran.

So when I see the FLOTUS announce an award for "Argo" -- wow, how appropriate, huh? "Argo" was all about using a fake entertainment vehicle to literally "get into Iran." The titular "movie" at the heart of the "real" movie wasn't real. It was a tool. Is "Argo" a tool as well?

The late 1970s and the Iranian hostage crisis laid the groundwork for the rah-rah patriotic 1980s and America's military excursions to follow. It provided a "properly demonized," clear-cut villain that we could all get around to hate. It galvanized us in some bizarre way, brought us out of the doldrums of the recession of the Seventies.

If I had to guess, this is where we are headed again. No, the U.S. will not take the offense -- they'll wait until "something terrible" happens and "our hand is forced." If constructed correctly -- if the Hollywood writers and directors and best-selling novelists that the government hires to run through scenarios really come up with something grand (and that is not a conspiracy theory -- I know a couple of them) -- this all could conceivably bring back that rah-rah patriotism Eighties and maybe goose up the economy.

The key would be to have an event so striking that if the Republicans didn't come on-board to support War they would look like world-class Assholes. Stop me if you've heard this one before.

Certainly, it wouldn't have to be war with Iran, or whatnot -- the whole asteroid/meteor card has been played to great effect to scare the populace world-wide. Or that old chestnut of "alien invasion" could be played, I guess -- the Daily Mail recently dug out that "Eisenhower had telepathic communication with the aliens" thing again.

Really, how hard would it be to create a plausible scenario that the Earth was being "watched" by mysterious beings far up in the sky in amazing ships? How hard is it to pull off a grand-scale "Argo" on the residents of planet Earth?

Anyway, it seems like the U.S. -- and a portion of the rest of the world -- has hit the wall in terms of economics. We've hit the wall on the environment (400 "cancer villages" apparently in China) too. Overpopulation is also a problem, but a lot of that has to do with a vastly disproportionate distribution of wealth and food worldwide.

Finally -- people like me, and like a lot of American citizens, live in a fake, highly-constructed lifestyle built on the backs of tremendous misery in third-world countries. I am typing this on a Mac computer, knowing full well that the suicide rates among Apple workers overseas are so high because they are completely overworked and miserable. By instinct, I go to "name" stores to buy my clothes, clothes that  have a good chance of being put together by child labor.

My easy "out" for my conscience is to buy into the "Good Citizen" organic bohemian DIY ethic -- but it is hard to suss out what part of that isn't just another fad as well. Has a child in Burma still sewn that "Think Green" tee I've purchased at the "name" store? I'm paying a lot of money for these boutique "made by real hands in America" items, but then I don't have a lot of money anymore either. I'm broke, and so purchasing the sketchy products at the 99 cents store doesn't even seem like an "Ugly American" thing to do anymore -- I'm just trying to save up money by getting my toilet paper cheap.

The answer is: there are no "easy outs." The answer is: this Golden Age we look to, whether in be in the 1940s or 50s or 80s or 90s or whenever -- never really existed. These were all Legends, carefully constructed to live on in our memories through Hollywood and textbooks and in our wishful thinking.

And this type of attitude -- this questioning attitude, this critical attitude, this constantly wanting the truth attitude, this consistently rejecting bullshit attitude -- it ain't attractive. It makes us look like the cranks with the "Doom" placards. If we're lucky, some of us will be picked up as Pundits and then, depending on our popularity and size of our Facebook followers, have our opinions co-opted by one Interest or another (which is what I think partially happened to Alex Jones).

With all this going on in the world, it is no mystery to me why people flock to Entertainment. It is no mystery why Politics and Government weave themselves so tightly through Entertainment (that has been going on forever). It is no wonder why we, the collective We, fairly demand an "Argo" to save us. We don't care if it isn't really a movie. We want a place on that ship. We want to believe in the Golden Fleece. We want liberation from our hostage situation.

And Ben Affleck -- Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt -- is that hero, is our Jason, to see us through. He was our hero in "Armageddon," he was our hero in "Pearl Harbor," he was even a (albeit fake) Superman.

What's the next step in the script? How many special effects will there be? Who will star in the production? How many action figures and t-shirts can they make? What will be the net gross at the box office?

"Prophecies": The "gkg" Document

Posted on 06:03 by omprakash

I've recently recovered files from a very old laptop of mine. Most of the documents were written on an older computer than that, in a pre-packaged word processing program that until now I could never find a "translator" for.

I've recovered two very strange documents, one labelled "jk" and the other "gkg" -- both originally written in 2006. They both seem to be of a so-called "prophetic" nature; the former I vaguely remember writing, the latter I completely do not.

Document "gkg" is in two parts:
1) prophecies
2) the nature of aliens, demons and spirit

I'm fairly freaked out about the "gkg" doc as I have zero memory of writing it. I've done a search online to see if this was copy-and-pasted from some forum or other article, but no success. I did try my hand at a bit of "automatic writing" and the like during this period -- though the idea of completely having no memory of writing something is alien and strange to me.

Is this really a "prophecy" or is some of it simply projections based on the current data of the time? The timeline in which this piece takes place is not specified. Certainly, the stuff about hurricanes on the East Coast and subway floodings have come to pass in a quite striking manner. Another part about nuclear strikes is fuzzy. The 2012 thing doesn't predict a specific apocalyptic event. And then you have the "Divine Revelations" stuff which is a whole different matter entirely; I was a Christian at the time, but not anymore. The part about the Mormons completely came out of left field. I still basically believe the "Evolution In Human Consciousness" part, though.

At any rate, I'm going to post the "prophecies" part of the "gkg" doc here, I guess for shits and giggles. But more than that -- as a way for me to better understand why I am so focused on certain topics at the moment (possible epidemics, sudden jumps in human evolution, etc.). Maybe recovering these files came at the right time for my personal evolution; if you find anything of use of it, that's cool as well.

Prophecies

1. The Revolt of Nature:
This is happening right now. There is no steady progression here -- it is happening right now, and when it is over there will hardly be any place not effected.

* Plague in most major cities around globe -- mandatory quarantine centers established. This is of course most traumatic in non-Third World cities, scarring the emotional landscape. Establishment of "non-contaminated" quarters of cities like New York, the line between rich & poor drawn.

* Massive hurricane/flooding up Northeast Coast. Parts of New England effected to the point of Katrina-proportions. Flooding in NYC streets, subways knocked out. Water possibly contaminated.

* Parts of California underwater following earthquake + tsunami. Golden Gate Bridge destroyed. San Francisco underwater.

* Massive volcano eruption in the West. Tourist area. Massive casualties, mostly because people unprepared.

* Solar rays considered too strong to bask in unprotected -- covering & shade required to go outside even in winter.

* Livestock shortage -- especially poultry & beef due to various diseases.

* Water shortage -- water valuable commodity as drinkable water supply shrinks & Earth heats up.

* Massive flooding in large areas of Europe, resulting in unheard of damage to centuries-old landscapes. Sooner rather than later.

* NYC earthquake, enough to change landscape

2.War:

* Strike on Iran -- not ground war, but heavy bombing massive casualties.

* Massive strike on Israel following Iran strike -- significant damage & casualties

* Return of Cold War with Russia

* The beginnings of warlike relations between US and South American countries as natural resources dry up. US looks at South America as "potential supplier" of natural resources whether they like it or not.

* At least two nuclear strikes within next five years. Pakistan becomes radical Muslim state, and they have the bomb.

* Significant reduction of freedoms, especially in cities, following natural disasters. Cities become unbearable because the lines are drawn so sharply between the poor--who are most likely to be infected with plague/flu--and rich. Many rich flee cities entirely or gentrify them completely and build new cities where poor are bussed in to do menial labor.

* Chinese attempt to invade devastated West Coast of US

* China/Japan/Korea fusion

 * Attack on NYC resulting in altered skyline

* US expands borders to include parts of Canada & Mexico

* Large numbers of US population at Third World level following economic collapse, massive unemployment. Draft held in large part to deal with growing unemployment situation.

3.Human Consciousness Evolution:

* Selected people will spontaneously get "enlightened" at an ever increasing rate. Exodus of selected people out of cities or other areas to be effected the most.

* Highly psychic & intelligent children being born

* High number of angelic & demonic "walk-ins" entering human hosts for first time

* Latent angelic/demonic/alien walk-ins spontaneously emerge with great abilities

* Many wonders and miracles; high communication between spirit, interdimensional, & human worlds

* "breakdown" in our current conception of the mechanics of reality. malfunctions in time. it will be like a computer program with glitches. hallucinations, time anomalies, increased "ghost" activity, disappearances

4. Fulfillment of Divine Prophecies:

* Christian concept of The Rapture -- many highly enlightened souls will leave the Earth with their bodies -- just completely disappear off the planet.

* Mayan 2012 -- The dividing line between history as we know it from Sumeria until now and what it is to become. Some of this is because of the ravaged state of the Earth. And some is because of the highly evolving human consciousness. There will be Earth polarity issues that will not destroy the planet but really mess up the nature of reality as we know it.

* Pay credence to Mormon prophecy, because there is something to it

* The New City -- God doesn't build it (directly, at any rate), people do.

 * Twilight of the Gods - the "Gods" are all those seemingly all-powerful things on Earth right now.

* A birth of a child does set the really major events off -- just by the simple fact of the child's birth

*  War between good & evil -- between angelic & demonic human hosts
